We want to get DS a toddler-level bike for his 2nd birthday as every time we go past bikes in the street or in the car he gets excited and points and says '[DS name] that! [DS name] that!!'. We're taking this as a hint - the question is: which is best, a balance bike or a trike?
So far I've found this trike with a push-bar that looks good but I'm also quite taken with the little wooden balance bikes I see around.
How independent can they be with the balance bikes? Do you need to hold them all the time or can they just push them along? DS is very independent and likes to do everything himself so while I like the idea of a trike with push-bar for me, he might prefer something he can move on his own.
