Ok so have been trying not to start to get concerned but my ds is 15 months & not walking yet & not showing much interest in it either!!
He sat up at 7 months, crawled at about 10 months & cruised at about 11 months, he has walker type toys which he will stand up & push but is reluctant to walk holding my hands he moans & sits down after a few steps!! My dd was a bum shuffler & walked at 16 months but loved trying to attempt it before that!
Am I just being silly & 15 months is not that late or when do I become concerned?! Shock Please advise Hmm

Mine is just begining to walk unaided at 17 months. My first walked at 11 months so I've found it quite different this time around!

DS was 16 months and he showed no real interest before, would cruise around the furniture but not much else. He just got up and went one day, out of the blue.

Give him til 18 months and then speak to your HV/GP just to check - some children are later than that as well though

DS was about 17 months when he started walking too, I didn't know at the time but he has hypotonia and coordination problems as a result of his autism and this was holding him back. When he eventually got the hang of it that was him, he ran everywhere and still does :o

Give it till about 18 months and then mention it to the HV or the GP but crawling and cruising are definitely positive signs. My step-daughter can't and won't ever be able to walk and she wasn't able to do either of those things at that age.

My paediatrician ( under for allergies) said he would not be concerned until dc was 18mths old and did nothing when I was concerned my dc not crawling or standing at 13months. 18 months seems to be when they will look into lack of movement.

My dd is 20 months and has only just started walking unaided. Had the hv over to see her about 18 months as she said if not walking on her own is only thing then very unlikely to be a developmental issue. Also said might be a confidence thing as older babies are more self aware and might link walking unaided to falling than younger ones so as they don't want to fall they don't want to get rid of their support. If that makes sense?

I work in a nursery and its quite common for babies to not walk well into their 1s! Normally age is anywhere from 11months through to around 19months, so long as DC has movement from crawling and showing interest in getting around I'd encourage but don't force anything! They all do it when they're ready.
Also, avoid putting shoes on them, this can sometimes delay walking!

DS2 was 21 months the day he got out of the pushchair, walked across the playground and climbed a slide Grin think it was a mixture of confidence and laziness. But once he walked that was it, pushchair went and he walked pretty long distances. He was a third child it was much easier than the others who walked earlier.

My 17 month twins aren't walking yet. Been to see hv who isn't concerned about twin 1 as she is cruising but twin 2 isn't weight baring so being seen by pediatrician when we get a app.

It's so worrying. But my dc3 didn't walk till she was18 months

Hi. My son didn't walk until he was 19 months. Didn't seem anywhere close to walking then one day just got up and started walking round the house like he had been doing it for months. I was totally amazed.
