Hi, my DS is 6mth and I am fasinated how he develops day by day. Can anyone recommend some interesting books on this? Maybe more on boys development and child psychology? Also, anything that helps me get into good habits so that he grows up well behaved!

Wonderweeks is excellent up to about 13 months. I also like "Baby Hearts" and "Baby Minds" by Linda Acredolo and Susan Goodwyn.

Am interested if anyone can recommend anything 2-5 - I agree it's fascinating but right now I seem to end up reading books about discipline and how to rear nice kids, but haven't found any good development books. Reading "the child in the mirror" by Charles fearnyhough which is ok but a bit less matter of fact than I was hoping for.

I love Baby Talk by Sally Ward, although mostly about language developement it also talks about more general changes and what toys/books are good for each stage.

For an older child but try your toddler month by month and your child year by year.

Agree about wonder weeks too Smile
