What does your 2-year old DC enjoy doing?

Just a thread for interest really!

DS2 turns 2 on Monday (how did that happen Hmm) & he is a lovely boy. He plays contentedly for good periods of time, but loves to involve us (always bringing toys over & looking at us when he finds things funny). He is not much of a talker yet (about 15 words to date), but I'm sure that will come!

His current favourite toy is the wooden train track he shares with his brother (4.2). He also loves cars (lays down to play with these!) & his shape sorter & drawing (preferably on an A4 pad with a biro rather than colouring with crayons). We are often at playgroups where he makes a beeline for toy pushchairs & loves the songs (joins in to wheels on the bus & twinkle twinkle). He likes his bedtime story & sometimes likes books in the daytime, but not always. We have got him a toy kitchen for his birthday which I think he'll love as it has lots of doors to open & close Grin

What does your just-turned/nearly 2 year old enjoy doing?

Hi,my ds turned two last month.he also has about the same amount of words as your ds,though he understands absolutely every single thing you say!he adores trains,he is obsessed with them. He has about ten Thomas the tank character trains of different sizes which he would play with contentedly for hours.thats his main thing but he will settle for playing with cars if there's no trains about. Also loves books and would sit and flick through anything although of course his favourite books have pictures of trains. He also loves stickers, but can get frustrated with them.he also likes to bring things over for us to look at but is happy to play alone too.can I ask why you are asking? I had concerns about my ds for a while but now his development has taken a leap and I am content that he is progressing well.

I was just musing as his birthday approaches. I can see his little character developing & it's really cute Smile I just thought it would be a nice thread as it's such a lovely age.

My DD talks a lot and has an enormous vocab. So she does love prattling! She also likes playing with her Thomas trains and I am going to spend her birthday money on some track. She loves books, we probably spend more time reading than anything else though if she could she'd probably watch YouTube all day! She also plays with duplo, mostly building slides for the animals to go down. Needless to say she likes real slides too! She likes playdoh, but craft-wise at playgroup she makes a beeline for the paints and glue. She used to love doing tea parties for her soft toys and she was obsessed with jigsaws for a few months but she seems to have lost interest a bit. It is a lovely stage for development but she's a right little terror at the same time!
