I've seen several with both my children for AS diagnosis and dealing with anxiety and school problems.

It helped in terms of getting the diagnoses. Not sure any of the other things they did helped. They tended to suggest strategies we;d tried long ago.

I was a bit disappointed in them TBH.

DS sees a specialist psychologist who deal with trauma and phobias; his improvement has been slow but very significant in general, with the odd 'major' breakthrough. The one thing that has stuck with me throughout the process thus far (and still hold true) is that he generally goes backwards in order to go forwards. He'll progress for so long and then he'll regress - big time - but this is followed by a breakthrough of some kind (and the breakthroughs have often been emotionally painful for him).

Finding the right psychologist was essential though, his first one was terrible.
