Massive percentile drop - should I be worried

The important thing to check here is when the change in the centiles occurred. If it was when he was a new born, then that puts things in a different situation - it is more likely to have been an increased bithweight related to pregnancy. If however, it is more recent, then that is a different matter. I am a GP - if there is a change in weight crossing 2 centile lines on the chart, that is a cause for concern. The fact that your child is doing great is really reassuring and the likelihood is it is just the way he is, but you have your concerns and rightly so. You would not be doing anything wrong by asking for a referral to a paediatrician if you haven't seen one already.

Sounds fine then, if he's bright and alert and the doctors aren't worried, I'm sure everything is fine.

He was EBF up to five months and just stopped BFing in last week - tho lots of formula as well. Plenty of milk and dairy in his diet.

It could just be that he's found the centile tats right for him. If he's bf has he still been having lots of feeds and if he was ff was he getting his 20floz a day between 6 and 12 months?

Not sure about head, but he is above average height I think - still taller than all the other babies in NCT, just leaner.

How's his height and head centiles doing?

DS did something similar, though he wasn't as big as that at birth - if you have skinny genes in the family, specially skinny-small-boy genes, then you probably shouldn't worry about it, so long as he is healthy and energetic, doesn't get puffed easily, etc.

With my dad and brother, you could count the ribs right up till their teens, so when DS started to develop into the same body-shape after he got a bit of height, I wasn't surprised despite the growth charts.

DS has just turned one - was a massive 10.2lb at birth and in 98th percentile but is now around the 25th, weighing 9.75kg. He looks healthy, eats well and we have fairly skinny genes in the family so I feel like he is ok and has just leveled out to a natural weight but cannot help worrying. Doctors say he looks healthy and not to worry but waiting for his 12 month check in with health visitor. Is this normal, shouls I be worried?!
