My Ds is 21 months and adorable, but going through quite an annoying stage. Please tell me its a phase!
He has never had bad separation anxiety (although needs me to sit with him for 40 mins while he falls asleep or else goes mental) But recently he has been calling 'mama?' every 30 seconds. I can only assume he wants reassurance that I am RIGHT THERE every second of the day. I am SAHM and am with him all of the time, apart from the odd afternoon with grandparents, maybe once or twice a week. I guess this is a relatively new thing as we have moved near them recently. Wherever I am in the house, whatever I am doing, whatever he is doing, all I get is 'mama? mama? mama?'
Its stopping him fall asleep at night as he lies there asking for me over and over again. I'm not quite sure what he's after as I usually have my hand on his back and am saying shush over again so he definitely knows I'm there!
My only other thought is simply that he is experimenting with the use of a name and trying it over and over again to see if it still works!!
Any advice on how I can reassure him of my presence before it sends me bonkers?
Thanks!
