Have a look & see if your council is doing any activities for the holidays. Ours does 'Play in the Park' in Easter & summer holidays, which is free & just oragnised activities like football, rounders & craft in a park. There are also Easter egg hunts on round here (can't remember who's organising those).

Otherwise, how about playdates, trips to the library, picnics & take a ball if the weather's good, swimming, baking, crafts at home (I'm thinking of blowing out some eggs & painting their shells for Easter with DS1).

Even, when you have to go grocery shopping, take him & promise a comic/drink at supermarket cafe if he is good?

Our local council leisure centre runs a holiday club and for members it's only £9 a day for a full programme of sports and other activities. Our DS7 likes to go along every second day (eg Mon, Wed, Fri) and so still has the weekends and bank holidays with us, and also the Tues & Thurs, for example. Sometimes, a few days away from each other is brilliant during a long break!

In the Easter hols, our local tennis club runs children's lessons and there are various other council run courses. My DCs always like going to something sporting, and if I'm lucky they come home tired. Result.
