When do I say 'no'?

My baby is nearly 8 months and into everything. So far I try to let her explore and discover for herself. Within reason i let her take risks and put up with bumps. I also try not to always say 'no' when she grabs at hair etc. usually i distract her if I need to stop her. I don't want every other word to be no and at this age it means nothing to her.

But when do I need to start stopping her from scratching, grabbing hair and chewing computer wires?

Thanks.

You need to stop her scratching now, you really don't want her thinking that is ok.

Instead of saying no, could you tell her what she should do instead? So instead of 'no don't touch' say 'leave that there please' and instead of 'no scratching' say 'gentle touching please'. And show her how :)
