Anyone else got/had a screamer? Desperate for some words of comfort here...

My DS is 13 months and LIKES TO SCREAM. It started when he was about 9 months and it's just not getting any better. Someone told me around a month ago that it's just a phase and it lasts about 3 months but I'm still here 4 months in and if anything he's just getting louder! Sometimes it's so loud, my eardrum vibrates.

When I take him to playgroups or anything he's the loudest one there. He scared my friend's 10 month old when we met up because he kept making these loud shrieks and her baby started to cry. Recently we stayed away for the weekend and the people downstairs made complaints to management about noise from our room as he was so loud. It was a family friendly self catering place with loads of kids so I felt so in despair that even in a place like that he's noisy enough to complain about. I wanted to cry when the manager came to our room to tell us about the complaint!

Does anyone have any advice? When does this screaming business stop or at least ease off a little? Please tell me this ends at some stage because I'm starting to get agoraphobic about going places with him by now...sad

I can't advise but could have written your post! My dd is also 13 months and does the most ear pearcing screams. It started a couple of months ago, stopped for a while and has recently started up again . Its worse when she is bored or tired. I am hoping that it is a phase and she will eventually stop. Until then i am doing my best to ignore it (and the stares!)

All a bit hippy but have you considered cranial osteopathy? There might be something bugging him they can help with? Good luck x
