Research on tv and under twos?

I keep hearing about it but I can't actually find it anywhere! Can anyone link me up? Hoping it's unconvincing! :)

I could find nothing but studies that were all epidemological (not surprisingly would be tough to do anything else) and it's very difficult to control for other factors (ie the most disengaged parents would tend to have the TV on the most) My research search was not that deep though, so would also be interested.

There's studies like this one which found no link (indeed found only being male as a link in everything they looked at)

The advice given on TV watching also did not come about because of TV being shown to be bad in any case, the advice came because it showed a reduction in time spent with an adult was reduced and that was the bad thing that had been identified.
