homemade activities 18-24m, ideas?

I've just given a pile of macaroni to DS to play with and thread on string - good fun. Then I looked up this, edible fingerpaint! How great. Homemade putty is a classic of course.

Any other ideas of activities that can be made at home to entertain young toddlers?
