why has 18month old has started crying when she wakes up in the morning?

18 month old DD always used to wake up happy, I'd hear her in her cot jabbering away to her teddies for ages before she wanted us to go and get her. For the last week she' woken up really sad, and just lays in her cot crying for us to go and get her.
Is it because it's so dark now and her body clock is confused or just a phase?
Any ideas? Thanks

I don't know but both ours went through this phase. DC2 now coming out of it at nearly 2yo.

She could absolutely hate her cot. We're going through this with 22mo DD2 at the moment, just sobs to come out. We'll be putting her in a bed soon for this reason; DD1 was exactly the same.

Or like you say it could be that it's dark in the mornings and she's confused. Aren't toddlers strange?!

My two just grew out of it without doing anything different.

I don't think she hates her cot because she's more than happy to go in it. They are funny little things, would love to know what goes on in those little brains.

Tell me about it! DD2 is also happy to get in, but all we get in the morning is "Muuuuuummy!! Muuuuuuummy! COME OUT! COME OUT!".

If it helps, DD1 is just getting out of tricky toddler phase at 5.

5! Oh crikey. They really should come with an instruction manual sometimes!
