What did your 1 year old do today?

Recently there was a thread on 'what your 2 year old said today' and it was lovely to read. I was a bit jealous I couldn't join in so I thought I'd do one for 1 year olds. They are so fun at this age and learning so much.
Today my DD (13 months) discovered the wonders of the toilet bowl as a place to throw stuff (hmm). She also found another baby at Playgroup who likes to open mouth kiss and I found them gumming each other like a bunch of lovestruck teenagers. Oh dear.
So tell me, what did your 1 year old do today?

What a lovely idea.

Today my DD (13 months) stood in her Little Helper pod at the sink and splashed. She especially enjoyed lifting her beaker off the drying rack, scooping some water in, and drinking with long gasps and smacking of the lips.

She also performed some very questionable dance moves while holding onto the bars of the cot.

my 1.10 year old walked 1/2 mile but made it last half an hour by checking every flower, stroking a slug, shouting bye to a cat, asking "whatsthat" about everything including a large man, walking along edging stones and jumping a lot.

Airforce, I have got to get one of those helper pods. Sounds very handy.

Flicking through a magazine, love it.
Mine doesn't walk yet on her own, or doesn't want to let go of my hand yet, but can't wait til we can go on walks together.

Today she took great delight in throwing leaves into the air, managed to put one of my shoes on and was trying to walk in it and clapped her hands for the crocodile snap in one of the songs we sang

Walked up to another toddler and gave her a hug (arms around gentle hug) walked around nodding her head at every given opportunity and gave me several open mouthed kisses. And said 'du' a lot with a duck quacking hand movement. Ducks are a thing of fascination the past few days.

She is 13 months old today.

My ds is 10.5 months and today managed to crawl up the whole staircase unassisted (with DH anxiously hovering behind him arms outstretched!)

Mine is 14 months and also kisses with an open mouth!!

She went to nursery and launched herself at another baby the same age, aiming for a hug but knocking both of them over.

She went for a ride on A golf buggy with my dad which she loves and squeals with delight

Then sat on the house steps looking very pleased with herself

DS is 13 months old. Today he has...

Sung wind the bobbin ("why da bob bob") approximately 76 times, complete with actions and a round of applause afterwards.

Cuddled the cat ("awwww tuddle cat") until the cat was left a husk of its former self on the kitchen floor.

Helped me clean out the saucepan cupboard. This was a very loud, bangy job and also a sopping wet job.

Had a bath in the sink. Twice

Spent an inordinate amount of time removing my shoes from the shoe rack and filling them with lego.

Run around shouting "go baba go go go" and pausing to throw his hands in the air and shout "winnnneeeeerrrrrr".

Danced to some folk music.

Climbed the bookcase. Twice

Played throw/catch with his sister and laughed so much at her sound effects, he had tears in his eyes and was unable to stay standing.

Answered the phone to MIL and shouted "hello yes yes go no cat up no down no bye bye" and hung up before I could get there.

Stole dh's olives out of the fridge, ate most of them and put the pot in the bin and dh's olive spoon in the washing up bowl (well trained).

Built a tower and stood guard next to it for 20 minutes, shouting at us if we approached. He then knocked it down and ran off.

What a lovely idea for a thread OP. Loving the snogging babies, oh dear me that sounds wrong!

Ds is 14 months. He woke me up by throwing his dummy at me then saying "oh dear" but then gave me the biggest cutest smile and said "Ehllo Mumma" so I couldn't be cross.

He then snuggled up next to me for half and hour whilst I gathered myself together and gave me a million kisses, which at the moment are of the theatrical kind so are accompanied by a long mmmwwwaaahhhh!

He sang along to "a na nah" (diamonds on the soles of her shoes) at least 20 times.

He decided that Hippos roar in exactly the same way as lions. ( I couldn't really argue because I have no ides what noise they actually do make )

He helped me clear out my wardrobe by taking everything out of the charity bag and putting it under the bed every time I turned my back.

In short, he was awesome. Today was a good day

My 14 month old DS stood up by himself for the first time, then clapped himself! He then crawled around with straight legs and bum in the air giggling like a loon. Then he stood up and took his first steps! Very proud mummy.

He's also stolen food off my plate and bitten DH's toes.

My DD (14 mo) learnt to climb a stair. V happy as she's got a slight problem with her legs so it's not easy for her. Of course we will now have to remember to lock the stairgate...

DS is 18mo. Today he said his very first sentence, four words put together, not mimicked! Was so lovely!

He went to soft play and lounged in the ball pool, then spent some time running up and down the soft wall thingy around the edge, shrieking

We went to see his cousins and he said both their names

He ate a huuuuuuuuuuuuge dinner then came home in time to give his recently bereaved grandad a big slobbery kiss, which was lovely. He's the only one of us who knows what to do with him at the moment.

Today was lovely. He's at nursery tormorrow and I will miss him

My 13 month old shouted BOBBOB! happily every time he saw his nappy (easy ups with Bob the Builder on them) which was quite a lot as he was quite pooey ("stiiinky") today. He spent ages and ages playing with some pine cones, including trying to eat them and then just looking wistfully at them muttering "dutty" after I told him they were too dirty to eat.

He took his shoes off in Aldi and made an old man walk round the shop looking for us with his shoe!

He found a string of beads of mine on the floor and walked round treasuring them like Gollum. He also walked round with a huge mouthful of malt loaf and a piece in each hand, then tried to climb the stairs, so there are malt loaf handprints on the carpet. And he has learnt to pass unwanted food to me, saying "ta" instead of throwing it on the floor which is real progress.

DD is 16 months. Today she pointed to her head and eyes and nose whilst I sang Heads, Shoulders Knees and Toes. She also poked me in the eye when pointing to Mummy's eyes!
She hopped from foot to foot when I played a CD of jungle songs which is her dancing!
At the play gym she rolled herself around in the soft shapes and we played peebo and she giggled and giggled!

It was a lovely day.

Today 17mo DS...
Climbed over the fence into next doors garden (fell head first over a foot high separator)
Decided it would be fun to tip the dogs dry food into her water bowl.
But was über cute and snuggly the rest of the day.

Brian, I love the way they do that with food. Mouth full, bit in each hand, wandering round leaving a trail behind them. And the Golum behaviour seems to be universal too. DS is a magpie. He finally managed to get his hands on the veg peeler today (I don't allow him to have it, his big sister handed it over without a second thought) and he ran off cackling with joy. He has never been so triumphant.

Today was all about walking for my 1-next-week year old.
Much to her (usually vile) brother's delight "look DD is walking by herself". Then she walked out of the library (bloomin' electric doors) which was less fun.
Shoes for her birthday I think.

Today, DD aged 14 months came with me to a group and played with twins on the slide there after spending quite some time moving an entire plastic dinnerware set from one side of the room to the other (piece by piece) and placing them neatly on the table. No idea where she got the laying the table idea as although we eat together, it's just the two of us, so hardly like I lay for a huge family every evening!
She also clapped my hands a lot at the end of every song sung by the group (she does this by grabbing my thumbs and making me smack hands together - she can do it herself but mine make more noise, clearly). I was a very proud mummy when she picked up a sheep and clearly said 'BAA BAA" about 1 zillion times, slowly and precisely. This has not ever happened before although I am now worried she thinks that is it's name and began fretting that Old Mc Donald only mentions the animal name once, while repeating it's noise far too many times...oh blaaardy hell!
She doesn't say much yet but "Cheeeeez", with full on eyes closed toothy grin whenever I go near the fridge. Even when she has just had some. This evening she enjoyed investigating the netting of the baby bell and then politely handed it to me and pointed to the bin :)
She actually grisled to get INTO her cot tonight. Must have worn her out :)
