its odd but why doesn't my ds throw the ball at me when asked

my 17 month ds loves playing ball. he has lots and catches and kicks them around but if i say throw to me he says no and won't. he's always been like this. why/

Maybe he thinks you won't give it back. If my ds has hold of something he likes, nothing will break his little grip on it!

He is only 17 months, don't worry about it. Playing games will come as he gets older.

I agree that he doesn't want to let go of it! I think that co-operative game playing comes rather later in life
