this has started this week....

DH always does bathtime, feed and sleep routine. this week after bathtime hes started screaming if im not in room, he'll only stop if i pick him up.
fast forward to tonight, i go out for run and dh tells me he screamed the entire time i was out. hes on my knee now quite happy...hence the lack of punctuation.

what can we do? i have ds all day and at when dh comes in i get things done, go for run etc.
is this a phase? ps hes mixed fed if that makes a difference
please help, this is awful and i know dh is upset....

Don't worry, this is entirely normal.
Until the age of about 4 months, babies are happy to be with whoever will look after them.
Then they hit 4 months and suddenly realise that mummy (or whoever their main carer is) is the only person they want to be with.
They scream blue murder if you leave the room and if anyone else tries to comfort them.

The good news is that this is nothing to worry about. It is a sign that he is normal, not a sign that anything is wrong. It is a phase and it will not last too long.
However, it is not an easy phase. It is hard work for you with his constant demands on you, and it is sad for your DH and other family and friends who want to care for him and comfort him, but aren't able to.

You should still go for your runs etc. You need your own time and you need exercise. It is hard for your DH to care for your DS while he is screaming, but time for them together is still important.
The phase will not last long. He will soon return to being happy to spend time with your DH and other people. Until then, try to enjoy that he loves you and try not to worry too much.

Carry on having your own time. He will soon get used to it. It is nice for DH to have time on his own with DS.
