My dd had awful glue ear and repeated ear drum perforations. Her hearing was badly affected. Grommets went in age 2.9 they fell out age 4.8 no problems since other than occasional blocked ears and she has scarred ear drums from the perforations. Worth asking about grommets if its an option

Usual treatment is grommets for glue ear..and it can be magical when they work (and gross then the ears clear).
Is there a reason why hearing aids have been suggested? It's not the usual method as it would mean you still have ears full of 'glue'!

(my DS2 had two sets of grommets and it was amazing how much difference they made)
