Can anyone recommend one? Have tried the forehead strip and the under tongue one but both record a temp of about 33 degrees which is reptilian! Thanks

I have a Braun one too, but my DD is wriggly, so doesn't always work that well.

However, I saw http://www.amazon.co.uk/Vicks-V-977F-EME-Insight-Forehead-Thermometer/dp/B0012CG2DE/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_topthis?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21 type of thing being used in hosptial and that looked an improvement on the in-ear type

Thanks for that! If any of you happen to check back on this thread, which Braun is it? There are a few on Amazon

Ive been using this one, the DigiThermo From Just-Brill.com, it works brilliantly, is very accurate, it holds the Previous 9 temperatures taken and can be changed from °C to °F and vice versa, which is very handy when I lend it to someone else & it also has a nice feel to it. Its not too expensive either! With no covers needed for the end so no extra spending there either, you just wipe it clean.

I tried the Braun one, which was nice, if a little expensive, but I found it gave high temperature readings, causing a few unnecessary trips to the doctors, I think this was due to the heated probe on the end, so I looked for one that worked properly instead. Also you have to also keep buying covers for the end of it which is another unneeded expense.
