Behaviour/development

DD is 11 and starting to sprout little breast buds. I emphasise starting. When did you go down the whole first bra/crop top route?

I should state, I am vehemently 'let girls be girls' on this one, but I'm getting prepared for DD being a little self-conscious due to the thin fabric they make modern school shirts from.

I'd rather be ready for, and possibly pre-empt any queries, so guidance will be gladly accepted.

Bought dd her first bra when she was 10 and tbh it was high time, she had been nagging me for ages and yes...she had a good point. Took her to Marks and had her measured for a small flimsy model that was then upgraded, so to speak, when she grew a bit more.

Ha! Read this to be DS is 11 and starting to sprout little breasts.

Now i'm reading correctly, i really wouldn't worry. A cropped top will be fine, I was desperate to be showing bra straps at that age.

My dd is also at this point. I had a chat to her and emphasised that she did not in any way need to wear anything different (I don't personally wear a bra), but that if she wanted to she could. She chose two crop tops and she has a bandeau too. I don't think I would have bought her a bra though.

DD is 10.4 and has very small breasts. She had some 28aa bras for two reasons, we couldn't find white crop tops, they were either pink or lilac and her friends all wear proper bras.
Her bras are plain, no lace, no frills and cost £8 for two.

my not quite 10 year old has just been fitted as a 30A after her very embarassed dad gave her back to me after his 2 week holiday with her, telling me I needed to sort her out!

she had been wearing crop tops but they weren't enough

now she is back to school, in year 5, where ther still get changed for pe boys and girls together, she is mortified that she is the only one wearing a real bra! (and she did feel very proud when she got her bra)

got hers from Debenhams, and they were really good with her :-)

I would also say Debenhams. The lingerie woman fitted DD and bought her a selection both from the womens range and childrens.
