My DS (9) has had ongoing problems in school since Reception. Now in year 5. Has been to see educational psychologist - both school and I had to do connors questionnaire - both scored him high of ODD - not really high, but into the blue area which signifies a problem. Yet she has discharged him. He is just getting worse at school... I just don't know what to do anymore sad

No, but my dd is about to be assessed for ADHD. Do you have a SENCO teacher at school? Ours has been really supportive and is the one organising tests and support in and out of the classroom.

As I understand it, your local authority have to offer him an appropriate learning environment in the school (in or out of classroom) and if that isnt possible they have to supply a place in a specialised school??

The connors test is a test for ADHD thought I knew he didn't have that. No, no-one at school so went to doctor, referred to this ed psychologist and she now discharged him... though in her first letter said there is obviously a problem........

Good luck with yours

There should be a SENCO at every school. So go back to your son's school and ask who deals with special needs and get the school to
Put stuff in place to help him.

Ed Psych reports usually have pretty detailed and specific recommendations that school should implement for your ds. Contact your council to see if they have parent partnership or similar who will advocate for you re your sons needs being met at school.

If he's scoring highly for ODD, ask for a CAMHS referral, the Conners test is good but should only be used as part of a holistic assessment, not in place of it.

He is in private school so no SENCO. Going to pester GP...
