Does your child tell you they love you -constantly

That sounds bad, I love my DS(8) to tell me he loves me and still have kisses and cuddles, I say it too. He does it all the time though, at first I thought it was habit, he says it when I've told him off - I guess that's reassurance, or he can just be passing by me and say it. He must say it 40 times a day.

Anyone elses child do this? I'm wondering if he's feeling he needs reassurance about something. Its not new that he does this, he always has been affectionate.

Oh yes DD does, constantly, I'm also told how MUCH she loves me (more than chips, chocolate or the moon). Hmm Grin

DD2 tells me all the time and we tell her too, i love it especially as DD1 has never been a particularly affectionate child so it's lovely to have a more affectionate relationship with DD1.

sorry i meant it's lovely to have a more affectionate relationship with DD2. I love her constant kisses, cuddles and telling me she loves me (she's 10).

I get this a lot these days. Dd is 7.5. I see it as a sign of her growing independance - kind of like she wants to be off doing her own thing much more, but is still "checking in". It's lovely.

Ds, 8 tomorrow, is exactly the same Smile. I reckon we should not worry and savour every second because there will come a time when they are great big hulks of sweaty teenager and won't be as cuddly. I can still just squeeze ds on my kneeGrin.

dd1 is 6 and does this all the time , I think it is an attention/ reassurance thing ( she has 2 younger sisters).

We just reassurance (I hope) fingers crossed it's a phase.

ds1 used to do this when he'd return from a visit to his narcissist father Sad I think it can be due to insecurity.

I wish my dd2 would say it just once, she has Autism and may never say 'i love you mummy'. Savour every second of it and think how lucky you are to have a child who can tell you they love you over and over.

Agree with Marne, my kids are 10 and 12 and they've never been able to say 'I love you'. Envy

It could be because he's feeling insecure tho so maybe time to sit down and have a chat, see what's going on in his noggin.
