Dd is almost 7 months and suddenly developed severe separation anxiety about a week ago. She cries if anyone but me holds her and it's full on tears, mouth open silent screams, sobs, high pitched terror. She won't be left with anyone- DH, our Ayi (local version of nanny), godmother, friends. If she can't see me she screams and if I put her down she screams. It feels like she is only happy being held by me and she stops screaming the second I pick her up.
I'm at my wits end. DH travels a lot so I have done the bulk of parenting but I'm now doing almost 100%. She won't even let other people feed her and I've done every bedtime for months now as it means 45 minutes of sobs followed by her passing out still crying if anyone else tries. I'm exhausted by it.
What's the best way of getting through this and how can I get her to the point where others can look after her? Do I simply hand her over to DH and say 'you'll justbhave to listen to her cry?'
All ideas welcome!
