Behaviour/development

can babies sleepwalk and should I be worried if mine does?

I know this sounds a bit silly but my 5 month old DD (who can't yet walk, obviously, but is starting to creep on her belly) has started turning over during naps after being placed on her back and is trying to creep around: the first couple of times she did it I thought she was just awake and not napping but on investigation her eyes were closed and she was quite clearly doing it in her sleep. Obviously this is worth keeping an extra eye on in order to prevent her hurting herself, but this aside does this mean there's anything to worry about developmentally/cognitively?

I think it's perfectly normal. My dd used to move all over her cot in the night.

My mum gave up on blankets for my sister and put her to bed in her fleece all in one because she just never kept still.
She still used to wriggle and bang into the wall even when much older. We had thin walls you could hear her, she never woke up. Never seems to have done her any harm.um would have loved baby sleeping bagsGrin

Very normal. They like practising their new skills even in their sleep. I loved the clapping in his sleep stage Grin

Wait til she wakes you up screaming because she stood up and banged her head on the side of the cot in her sleep. Wink
