Entertaining a four month old on a rainy afternoon...

... how do you do it?

I don't know who is more bored, me or the baby! I'm a new mum and am running out of ways to keep the little one entertained on days like this. I have danced, I have sung, I have re-arranged the toys on the play gym... the repetition (along with general sleep deprivation) is driving me a bit nuts. Do any of you more experience mums have any tips...

try a little less hard....- at four months just watching you should be enough.

Agree with oranges - don't do so much entertaining!

Put him in the pram and mooch round a shopping centre?
Take a nap together?
Take a bath together?
Put him in a bouncy chair on your bed and let him help you declutter the wardrobe?
Sling on your back while you do some baking?
See if there are any baby cinema showings near you?
Take him to a museum or art gallery?

At four months - just bung him/her in a sling and mooch round an art gallery . . .

i know how you feel. ds is 14 weeks. i am getting him to grip various toys, put them on his tummy as i realised he likes to lift his legs so as to push the toy towards his mouth. also, he likes the sensation of v soft toys on his cheeks. bouncy chair is a must as is changing locations in the house.

library, garden centre, animal farms, shopping centre, museum/galleries, baby-friendly cinemas, seeing a friend, helping you sort out the socks, playing hide and seek with the laundry, cooking and gumming different pieces of food etc.....
