3yr old adding a b sound to the start of words

My 3 year old son talks a lot. Too much some days! However, I have noticed that he often adds a b sound to the beginning of words. So for example he said to dh this morning 'Your balarm is going off daddy', instead of alarm. He seems to do it even with sounds he pronounces normally at other times so he doesn't say bapple for apple for example. I wonder if this is normal or something I should get checked out. Does anyone have any experience of this?

DD started saying things like this aged about 2, our favourite being "travelcot b'lavel cot" - she seemed to cotton on to word play, and then got all her friends doing it. It was a phase. Long-lived, but a phase.

Amazing! Or should I say bmazing! You must have the same three year old DS as me . Does he say 'bee' or 'b' My DS1 says 'bee' - he even says 'beelarm' too. I am trying to think of some other examples but it is late! He also talks too much! I am not worrying about it yet, pre-school haven't mentioned it. I have more problems with my 2 year old who doesn't speak at all and is being referred for SALT. If DS1 is still doing it when DS2 get referred I will probably ask them.

Completely normal and even at nearly 4 I am still on occaison referred to as bubby rather than mummy by my DD .

My DS (4.2) always says "Bem" instead of "them", very odd. He says most other things correctly but not this word for some reason!
I don't think its anything to worry about, it will all come good in the end.

DD did this. We just corrected her and she grew out of it.

My 3 year old is doing this with an 'L' sound at the moment - so 'them' becomes 'lem' and 'yellow', 'lellow'. I guess they are still having to think about their pronounciation at this age.

I think it's playfulness with language - the emergence of an understanding of discrete sounds within a word.

DS does love a nice juicy bemato when he's playing the bepanno or interrupting Daddy when he's working on the bepooker.

my dd1 is 6 and still calls children 'trilldren'. God knows why.

My 3yr old DD likes to eat 'tannanas' and goes crazy when someone gives her a 'tablloon' (balloon).
