Crawling backwards down steps

Do babies get the hang of it themselves, or do you need to teach them?

10 m.o. DS is now competent at crawling forwards and can go down a step forward, but I'm conscious it'd be safer going down bottom first. :)

You will have to supervise and turn him until he gets the hang of it.

I spent a week teaching ds carefully - not rushing and letting him do it himself - and never had any problems after that.

definitely you have to help them turn round. we did with DS when getting of the sofa and he's great at it now. he can do steps but only in other peoples' houses as ours are open tread!
