colic or constipation?

DS1 was very colicky and a right pain when he was a baby
DS2 is an angel

except today hes been crying a lot + nasty-smelling farts and no poo. he is 3.5 months and 100% breastfed

can u be constipated if brestfed? his poo is quite runny usually. or can the colic starts now?

I gave him a little bit of cold water earlier and now he sleeps on my arm (cries if i put him down)

is it colic or constipation? and what can i do if constipated?

hi tostaky,

I don't know about colic but i know it is normal for breastfed babies to go days (even a week or more) without pooing. It's because breastmilk is so clever it is nearly all used up by the baby, leaving not much waste to be poo. Also they don't need water, your milk does it all.

I'd really recommend that you post on the breast and bottle feeding forum. There are lot's of knowledgeable people there. Include your baby's age in the post. Also could it be teething or a growth spurt?

Sorry i'm not more help. Home luck.
