Novice baker here so advice appreciated!
Can I make buttercream in advance and store it in the fridge? Would only be storing it for a day or so. Also, I've bought stork for it. Would it be better with butter?

Yes it would be much better with butter. I wouldn't use stork

Please please don't use stork, it will be horrible!

It will store in the fridge or the freezer absolutely fine.

Don't use stork for butter cream. It will be a million times better with real butter

It will store in the fridge ok

Fine to store buttercream in an airtight container in the fridge.

Not fine to use Stork! It won't taste very nice.

You could use half cream cheese or creme freche with half butter if the cake is very sweet. It makes it easy for piping or spreading. smile

Thank you! You're all amazing!

Forgot to say...mix gradually because if you over mix, the frosting will be too runny to apply.

I do most of my baking with stork but buttercream must be made with real butter.

I store it on the fridge and bung it in the mixer before using it to get some air into it.

Thanks again. A successful cake was made (I think) with butter!

Hurrah! Welll done.

Add some single cream when whisking up, and really really whisk it. I'd say 5 tablespoons of cream. And definitely use butter, not stork.

Oh dear just read you've made it already! Well done!
