Meringue

I've just found one I made ages ago (at least six months, possible a year)in a tin, in a cupboard. It doesn't have mould on it, it's still dry; I've done the tap test and it's nicely crunchy. I'd forgotten all about it, I was looking for a tin to store some biscuits in ! Do you think it would be edible ? Could it give you food poisoning ? It seems a shame to bin it, because it looks fine, but I'd rather not poison the family !
