Favourites are Freya & (Ale)Xander.

notsoteenagemum Fri 30-Oct-09 17:27:56

I love Freya but it is very popular.
I like Emily, Amelia, Madeline, Sophia.
Grace is ok.
I don't like, Emilia, Skyla, Tayla or Ava.

Similar names that I prefer would be Faith, Eve, Eva, Emma, Anna, Amelie, Hanna, Erin.

I like Harry, Oliver, Isaac, Joeseph.
I don't mind Alexander/Xander but prefer just Alex.
I don't like Reuben, Ryden, Rylan, Elijah or Xavier( I know three girls called this)

What about Ryan, Robert, Rhys, James or Zachery.

I would say all of the names except Skyla, Ava, Reuban, Rylan and Rydan are popular.

Xavielli Fri 30-Oct-09 17:34:23

You know girls called Elijah and Xavier... interesting.

I'm biased towards Xavier for obvious reasons. It all depends on how you are planning on pronouncing it, because if it's Ex-Ay-Vee-er
it's bloody awful.

Ava
Emily
Amelia
Emilia
Madeline
Freya
Sofia

All these girls names are nice.

Isaac
Ruben
Alexander nn Xander
Xavier
Elijah

And these are nice boys names.

Ondine Fri 30-Oct-09 17:34:42

I like Ava, Amelia, Freya and Sofia (prefer Sophia) and Madeline (prefer Madeleine).

Grace and Emily are a bit dull.

Skyla, Tayla Emilia are grim, the spellings are awful.

I like Isaac, Alexander, and Xavier (only if pronounced Zav-e-air)

Oliver, Harry, Joseph are very over used.

Ruben (prefer the Reuben spelling) and Elijah – I’ve got a bit of an aversion to Old Testament names so not keen.

Rylan and Ryden sound made up.

I like Freya and Xavier best.

notsoteenagemum Fri 30-Oct-09 17:42:52

One Elijah and two Xaviers xavielli the Elijah has a sister called Cameron too.

Xavielli Fri 30-Oct-09 17:49:37

As I said, interesting, and none of the meanings for those names can really be associated with one sex or the other.
Strange how we judge some names for boys and some for girls when their meanings don't indicate either way.

yelpol Fri 30-Oct-09 17:53:43

i like ava and harry best - but all are nice i think

Xavielli Fri 30-Oct-09 17:54:09

Mind you, the girls name Safiya is pronounced exactly as we say Xavier. I hope people don't think thats his name grin But again, the meaning is very nice so shrug

diddl Fri 30-Oct-09 18:11:10

I thought Xavier was "Hav-e-air"

Xavielli Fri 30-Oct-09 18:15:08

It is in Spain/Mexico. More often spelt with a J if it's being pronounced that way.

LaDiDaDi Fri 30-Oct-09 18:18:05

Emily and Isaac are nice.

Vivia Sat 31-Oct-09 19:31:53

Ava and Alexander. Classic.

Scorpette Sat 31-Oct-09 20:00:50

'Skyla' should be spelt either Skylar (Scandinavian) or Schuyler (Dutch, pronounced the same was as Skylar).

If you're going to give a child a 'different' name then at least spell it right! Same goes for 'Tayla' (Taylor, obviously)

CantSleepWontSleep Sat 31-Oct-09 21:22:54

Amelia, Joseph and Elijah are lovely.

You really don't want to know what I think of 'Tayla' and 'Ryden'.

stuffedmk Tue 03-Nov-09 12:30:43

Emily and Grace are lovely for girls.
My favourite of the boys names are Harry and Oliver.

I know a girl named Xavier. (pronounced zavier not X-avier like Xmen)

AuntieMaggie Tue 03-Nov-09 12:37:18

I like all of them
