Roman, what do you think?

Dp has suggested it for your impending DS.

I'm not sure if I like it.

His other suggestions are George and Edward and whilst I'm fine with either of them for middle names neither is a first name contender imo.

He doesn't like any of my suggestions.

Thoughts please!

Holiday or Candles come to mind. It's ok.

Well, the Polanski connection is a bit unfortunate atm. Nice name though.

Oh dear, I'd forgotten about Polanski .

Dp suggested it after mishearing someone say Ronan.

I like it less of late. Do agree that Polanski springs to mind also.

Roan was our choice for DD2 - would you consider it as a nice alternative?

LetThereBeRock · 29/10/2009 21:36

I love it. It doesn't immediately make me think of Roman Polanski.

LordVetinarisApprentice · 29/10/2009 21:40

Makes me think of Polanski straight away too. sorry, I wouldn't go with it for that reason.

Chynah · 29/10/2009 21:43

Love it - but then it is DS middle name so I would

love it. would never have thought of polanski, myself. cool, unusual and ... well, a fine name, i reckon, all in all!

I don't like Roman. I don't get it. It's a person from Rome. Is that the point?

piscesmoon · 29/10/2009 22:03

I think Roman blinds.(I have no idea what they are but think they are some sort of window covering).

snice · 29/10/2009 22:05

Instantly think Polanski although that will pass I suppose. How about Rowan?

Report
mathanxiety · 30/10/2009 01:29

Very nice, despite Polanski, which will quickly fade from memory. A very international name.

MamaLazarou · 30/10/2009 15:06

I like the name, although I wouldn't use it as it's a bit 'of the moment' and so may date badly.

Report
branflake81 · 30/10/2009 16:27

no. it's hideous.

LaDiDaDi · 30/10/2009 18:13

Well, he's pretty fickle so his suggestion today is Jake.

I rather like Jacob George so might stick with that.

I like it when it is pronounced with a Spanish accent, as in Román. Otherwise I expect to hear 'nose' after it in English.
