Roman, what do you think?

Dp has suggested it for your impending DS.

I'm not sure if I like it.

His other suggestions are George and Edward and whilst I'm fine with either of them for middle names neither is a first name contender imo.

He doesn't like any of my suggestions.

Thoughts please!

I rather like it, though it surprises me that I do!!

Holiday or Candles come to mind. It's ok.

bamboostalks Thu 29-Oct-09 21:17:12

Well, the Polanski connection is a bit unfortunate atm. Nice name though.

LaDiDaDi Thu 29-Oct-09 21:21:01

Oh dear, I'd forgotten about Polanski shock.

Dp suggested it after mishearing someone say Ronan.

MRSwereWOOLFhasabroomofherown Thu 29-Oct-09 21:22:15

I like it less of late. Do agree that Polanski springs to mind also.

dizzydixies Thu 29-Oct-09 21:27:07

Roan was our choice for DD2 - would you consider it as a nice alternative?

LetThereBeRock Thu 29-Oct-09 21:36:47

I love it. It doesn't immediately make me think of Roman Polanski.

LordVetinarisApprentice Thu 29-Oct-09 21:40:16

Makes me think of Polanski straight away too. sorry, I wouldn't go with it for that reason.

Chynah Thu 29-Oct-09 21:43:42

Love it - but then it is DS middle name so I would

RomanCandleJollster Thu 29-Oct-09 21:54:33

son of the lovely Martin Kemp and Shirlie Holliman.... nice name

katiek123 Thu 29-Oct-09 21:59:42

love it. would never have thought of polanski, myself. cool, unusual and ... well, a fine name, i reckon, all in all!

pointyhat Thu 29-Oct-09 22:01:37

I don't like Roman. I don't get it. It's a person from Rome. Is that the point?

piscesmoon Thu 29-Oct-09 22:03:56

I think Roman blinds.(I have no idea what they are but think they are some sort of window covering).

snice Thu 29-Oct-09 22:05:33

Instantly think Polanski although that will pass I suppose. How about Rowan?

mathanxiety Fri 30-Oct-09 01:29:18

Very nice, despite Polanski, which will quickly fade from memory. A very international name.

MamaLazarou Fri 30-Oct-09 15:06:42

I like the name, although I wouldn't use it as it's a bit 'of the moment' and so may date badly.

branflake81 Fri 30-Oct-09 16:27:17

no. it's hideous.

LaDiDaDi Fri 30-Oct-09 18:13:01

Well, he's pretty fickle so his suggestion today is Jake.

I rather like Jacob George so might stick with that.

dizzydixies Fri 30-Oct-09 19:30:08

Jake, as in the peg with the extra leg?!
Jacob is lovely as is George

eggontoast Fri 30-Oct-09 19:33:41

Jake is wonderful, but I am bias!!

toddlerama Fri 30-Oct-09 19:34:06

Love it! We would have had it if we had a boy.

foxytocin Fri 30-Oct-09 19:34:47

I like it when it is pronounced with a Spanish accent, as in Román. Otherwise I expect to hear 'nose' after it in English.
