10 weeks pg with DC2. DH mentioned that he quite likes Elodie, and I quite like it too - any thoughts? We're very far from decided so would welcome any comments really.

I like it. Ellie for short?

Peabody Tue 20-Oct-09 12:19:12

Sorry, let me clarify. I didn't mean that you would shorten the name. I meant that if other children shortened it, as they often tend to, it would end up as Ellie, which is also nice.

Very very pretty name

Barbie movie name. Together with Aurelie.

Yes I know they are real French names, but they are too candy-coated. Kind of name my six year old thinks is beeootiful.

Eloise, as have said before, escapes coz the Damned recorded it.

Lovely lovely name (yes it is a real French name). I slightly prefer it said the French way, rather than rhyming it with Melody, but maybe that's cos I am a sucker for accents.

I think if you have no French connections it might be odd. It sounds somehow...chavvy in English.
