Or else spelled as Yana? Has anyone ever heard the name before - apart from Jana Novotna (Czeck tennis player)?

I know a few, all Czech though. Yana would probably be the Russian or Ukranian spelling (I may be totally wrong here!). It's a nice name!

I have a DD called Jana! She's the only one I've heard of and is named after my dad who was Jan.

Pronounced Yana and of Czech/Slovak origin, also common in Germany.

I love her name! and she quite likes it too!

The Duggar Family (of 18 kids and counting fame) have a Daughter called Jana, but it's pronounced as it looks - strange.

I really like Jana - especially pronounced the German way (Ya-na).
