Hi, any thoughts on Rosanna? This is our 5th child and we are finding it difficult to come up with a name. Also one of our daughters have Rose as a middle name, do you think that matters? Thanks in advance for any replies. X

I think Rosanna is a lovely name, don't think it matters at all about your other child's middle name - most people she meets won't know and they're not exactly the same so hopefully your other child won't mind her name being used smile.

reminds me of the song, it's a good song, ugly lookin band tho

I'm not crazy about it, but I love Rosa. If I ever have another dd Rosa would be on my list.

lumnag Thu 17-Sep-09 22:28:24

Absolutely love Rosanna.
I had not even considered Rosanna until my DD was born. She had beautiful red hair and looked like a little rosebud so the name just leaped out at me. Great name.grin
Don't think the middle name of one of your other daughters matters at all.

Congratulations, 5 children, what an achievementenvy.

Great name.

Brilliant thanks for all the replies. This is the only one that we both quite like. Glad nobody thought it was a problem having Rose as a middle name for my other daughter, wasn't sure. Now can anyone give me any middle name suggestions to go with it please!!!
Thanks for the congratulations makes a change from people asking ''was it planned'' or ''you need to get a TV'' least once a day I'm asked that!

Rosanna is lovely; for a middle name I would go for something short and simple like Jane, Claire, Fay, Grace, Hope, or Joy.

MamaLazarou Fri 18-Sep-09 22:24:10

It's lovely.

Ceolas Fri 18-Sep-09 22:27:04

Lovely name.

We've just had our 5th and found it difficult too. Good luck

Love it & I know a gorgeous little Rosanna.

MmeLindt Fri 18-Sep-09 22:32:49

Congratulations on your 5th, lucky you. Do you have 4 girls?

I love Rosanna, it does make me think of the song but in a nice way as it one of my DH's favourite songs.

cece Fri 18-Sep-09 22:34:01

My gran was Rosina

MaggieBeauLeo Sat 19-Sep-09 11:25:46

I prefere Rosemary. Rosanna is a bit too sweet and sicky.

Rosemary sounds more intelligent. Romy and Rosie for short are nice.

I can't bear that dreadful Rosanna Davidson de burgh, the middle-class girl who dresses like a chav.

Love love love the name Rosanna I agree a short, cimple middle name would go nicely with it.

lena522 Sat 19-Sep-09 14:52:32

whoops, simple blush
not sure how that happened, my spelling isn't that bad I swear wink

pranma Sat 19-Sep-09 17:57:19

Rosanna Joy

MegSophandEmma Sat 19-Sep-09 18:03:28

abouteve Sat 19-Sep-09 18:09:16

Love it. smile

emmared1980 Sat 19-Sep-09 21:11:13

Thanks, I think this is going to be ''the one''. Just the middle name to sort out now!
I've got 2 boys and 2 girls (B,G,G,B) and love all of their names so don't just want to settle on one that's ''ok'' for the 5th.

lumnag Sat 19-Sep-09 21:26:58

emmared1980 Once again many congratulations on your 5th child. Truly fantastic achievement.envy
Rosanna is a gorgeous name and ticks all the right boxes: i.e. not popular, nor made up and silly.
Just a beautiful name.
There won't be 3 more in her class at schoolsmile Some middle names you may like include.
Good Luck and best wishes smile

Love the name.

Mae for middle name?

SamMitchell Sun 20-Sep-09 11:53:09

Love it. Was second choice for our DD.

LauraJA Mon 21-Sep-09 12:43:06

Beautiful name - gave it to my oldest daughter. She's a Rosanna Madeleine (the middle name is after my Grandmother) - it may be a bit long but I think it's a nice combination. It was more common in Victorian times apparently. Her name is occasionally shortened to Rosie but I think it's a name that suits any age. Only snag is it's frequently misspelt!

Good luck whatever you decide
