Baby names

Jesse for a boy in Scotland?

It's just about the only boy's name left that I love. But is it too cruel to use up here with all the "ye big jessie!!" connotations?

Or d'you reckon that's a put-down of the past now, and just not used any more??

Don't do it. It's too cruel. I still hear it used.

It's a lovely name but you might as well call him Sissy or Wimp.

Nope- unreasonably cruel. Who wants to be a big jessie/e?

Well would you be willing to name your child wimp? I suspect not and that's exactly what you'd be doing.

It's a shame as it is a lovely name. Maybe in other countries but Scotland is the last place you could do it.

You'll just have to find something else I'm afraid. It really would be too cruel.

I'm sure you'll find something if you look through a baby name book.

Lol, that could be a plan if we don't come up with anything else! I just find boys' names either boring and common, or waaaay out there and pretentious ... no middle ground. Girls are soo much easier!

I find the opposite. I can think of a long list of boys' names that I love and just a few girl names.
