Can i ask the MN concensus on Margot....

this is my name of the week....I really like it after meeting someone recently of this name who totally wiped out any residual thoughts of Margot Leadbetter....i think it could be a really classy name for both a little girl and also a grown up woman....your thoughts please

I Have an Aunt called this and have always loved it ( and she is a very nice aunt too). you could always call her Margaret as full name and shorten it ot Margot

then later on she can choose a different short form if she prefers

I know a Margot who is three.

She is so very very beauiful, sweet and calm. A true angel. Because of her I could never have bad thoughts about the name - for me it is an absolute winner!

I think I read once that Margaux Hemingway was actually named Margot. I'd probably go for the more usual spelling.

Not Margeaux - think that when you see it written down it takes a couple of goes to realise how it's pronounced.
