Of course I know DH is going to say nay to every single one of these and I'll probably do the same for his list. But we have to come up with something! DS is Joey (Joseph Samuel).
I've already decided I dont like some of these and I put them there, but will leave them in for comments!

Evan - not sure, I'm not keen on names that can be first names or surnames

Nicholas - traditional

Noah - YEAH!!!

Irving - Berlin? Washington? Makes me think of catch 22 not keen at all

Reuben - Fab

Charles (I really like Charlie, but DH says NO and it is pretty common)- what about Edward (eddie) instead?

Sylvester (hmm, brings to mind a cat or a M'coy)- I agree

Rory (tried last time - DH hates but I still like) love it.

Bartholemew - bit of a mouthful! Don't like the nn 'Bart'.
Jonah - I love this name, but it does have some negative connotations to do with religion - would this matter to you?
Luke - cute name.

Benedict - I think is lovely but I just imagine we'll end up calling him Benny and that makes me and DH think of Benny from Crossroads (showing our age there!!) and Benny Hill! (we already had that discussion!)
Dominic (dom or Nic) - not so keen - not sure why
Theo (dore) - like, but not having 'T' as initial because of surname
Myles - so so
Daniel - really like, but it seems like all DS's friends are called Daniel.
Aaron - yes I like this too.
Jacob (Jake) - ruled out cos of surname and I dont like Jacob, just Jake (which DH has refused)

Well I have done my analysis (and yes I should be working now but this is far more interesting) and it would seem that Rory is a firm favourite as are Gabriel, Nathaniel, Nicholas and Reuben.

Pity that DH wont agree

You don't have to take DH to register the birth - go alone and run wild with the name.

I told my ex-DH that I got to have the final say on the first name as I was the one who was going to have to give birth/suffer the pain etc. Cold you try the same???

heh heh - I do run the show on a lot of things, but I think DH needs to agree on this one I'd feel bad if he really didnt like it.
But I can work on him if its an 'ok'. I want to see with what he comes up with too though (so far 'Esau' and 'Samuel Joseph' [i.e. DS's name in reverse)

My ds is Laurence - always called Laurie for short though (doesn't even answer to Laurence lol!).
Love Reuben, Noah and Gabriel.
We also considered Barnaby and Nathaniel so your list looks quite similar to ours when we were picking a name for our ds!!!

Love Evan, is my sons name and not very common here in Edinburgh which helps.
Luke is my one and only choice for my 2nd (due Jan) if it's a boy, so obviously love that too. Again, not that common here but obviously more heard of than Evan.
Also like Nicholas and Nathan. DH loves Nathan but too much like Evan and DH doesn't like Nicholas
