DC2 (a boy) is due this Sunday and I think we have narrowed it down now to either Alexander (Alex) or Felix as both go well with our surname.

Thoughts please to help us decide!smile

Prefer Alex (Alexander) as it is classic and timeless.

Felix reminds me of the Odd Couple and Cat Food....

KnickKnack Wed 19-Aug-09 17:28:45

I like both

<<no help what so ever>>

sillysalley Wed 19-Aug-09 17:28:55

Id keep them both in mind and see which suits him best. Love them both by the way, can see why you are finding it hard to choose which.

What is your surname? Does one name go better than the other?

magbags Wed 19-Aug-09 17:51:18

Think both names probably go equally well with our surname tbh. This is part of how we have arrived at these final two!

Runoutofideas Wed 19-Aug-09 17:56:48

Alex definitely

FritesMenthe Wed 19-Aug-09 17:59:07

Have them both grin

Felix isn't a very manly name to me. Not that mean owt, just makes me go bleh, sorry. blush

weegiemum Wed 19-Aug-09 18:09:16

Came on to post that Felix is a cat's name - the saw I wasn't the first.

Alexander (Alex) is lovely.

lilysam Wed 19-Aug-09 18:12:54

Alexander - no question

Only Felix i knew was arrogant and a total pain so has put me off that name for life!

magbags Wed 19-Aug-09 18:15:16

Hi Suwoo, hope all still going well with you and ds! I suppose the names are quite different in style but the ending in x does work well with our shit awkward surname. Does your choice of name "feel right" now that ds is here? Saw photo on your profile btw, he is just adorable. Congrats again.

TheChilliMooseTalksNonsense Wed 19-Aug-09 18:15:33

Lilysam, you and I must know the same Felix.

Spoo Wed 19-Aug-09 18:16:10

A vote for Alex.

PDR Wed 19-Aug-09 18:21:23

Hey how bizzare, I also had these 2 names and now have 15 month old called "Alexander Felix" what are the chances??!

Good luck!

suwoo Wed 19-Aug-09 18:32:09

Thanks magbags, all going well here. I am delighted that we chose Felix and we haven't had any sarky comments thus far- although people may have thought them. We have a daft surname too, that nothing actually 'goes' with. Are we friends on facebook?

cassell Wed 19-Aug-09 18:32:21

I'd go for Alex, sorry but Felix makes me think of the cat adverts...

magbags Wed 19-Aug-09 18:33:15

PDR, that is a bizarre coincidence! Had convinced myself that middle name should be a family name but maybe I'll reconsider.grin

dizzydixies Wed 19-Aug-09 18:35:45

both are lovely - why don't you wait and see what he looks like?!??

FuriousofTunbridgeWells Wed 19-Aug-09 18:35:52

Felix. I love both but I'd go for being that bit daring.

magbags Wed 19-Aug-09 18:49:23

Suwoo, not so far. I am on facebook but haven't used it yet. How do we set it up?

magbags Wed 19-Aug-09 18:50:34

Thanks so far everyone!
