What do you think?
Have Brad and Angelina spoilt a pretty name??

Vivienne Westwood is a goddess. Never can a name she possesses be spoilt.

Ditton Vivian Leigh.

Also suggesting Venetia for you, incase it's Vs you like

I love it, but i'm afraid i would think you had been influenced by brad and ange if I heard it.

Not sure I like the nn Viv either... which it might inevitably get shortened to.

Easy to spell because there are two of everything.

It is great.

Quite unusual, means lively.

And it's quite an elegant spelling.

Is also the Lady of the Lake in Arthurian legend, the one who is the keeper of Escalaber (sp?) which is pretty cool

Viv(ien) is one of my best friends - great name

Vivienne is prettier than Vivian in my opinion. Vivi is a cute nickname. Viv isnt great. All in all - OK, but not my favourite.

(Oh and agree Vivienne is far superior sp.)

(NT - think it's Excalibur)

Beautiful name! I would have named my dd Vivienne if it hadn't been the name of dh's ex girlfriend - I didn't mind that but he vetoed it!
Didn't know Brad and Ang had used it - where have I been???

Pretty

Reminds me of Pretty Woman. And she was a prostitute. Although obviously she came good in the end.

Do you say it differently to "Vivian", then?

Report
MrsBadger · 19/08/2009 10:56

No, pronounced the same (unless you are Fr I suppose)

but like Hilary, Vivian was originally a boys' name, so Vivienne is the feminine version of it.

Just go for vivien. I love that name. I hate extra letters on a name, eg, Juliette, or Annabelle. Yuck. Don't ruin a lovely name by dressing it up like a poodle.
