He is in his late 30's and HATES his name. He got picked on at school, and now, people always expect to meet a young woman, and get a shock when he turns up.

Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone is considering this name....

I called a patient in called Stacey (first name) once and have to admit to being really surprised to see a man walk in.

I like Jade for a boy/man

lots of names are unisex but more common for one gender in certain places/times

Jude for example

I'm sure I knew a bloke called Jade when I was at college.

Yes. I did. I just called my sister and she confirmed it.

Maybe it's the same bloke He's the right age.

Ask him if he went to clowne college!!

That's a college in Clowne. Not clown college

No. She says she doesn't think she ever knew it.

He was chunky - solid. not fat. Stocky. Long mousy hair on top with shaved underneath.

Although I suspect he would have changed quite a bit!!

It's just it's quite an unusual name for a man, he's the right age, your location is quite close...

I would still be surprised to see a guy walk in though!

I went out with a guy called Jade when I was 17-18! And he would be about 37 now, but his surname begins with a C. His parents went on honeymoon to a place called 'Jade Cottage' and his mum got pg there, which is why they named him that (quite sweet really).

If Jade hates his name so much, why doesn't he change it?

I know a man who is 54 and loathes his name but won't change it out of respect for his Mum and Dad MamaLazarou.

Isn't Emma Bunton's chap called Jade?

Okay, I think, though I wouldn't choose it. For a boy or a girl, in fact.
