what kind of girl do you imagine would have this name and what 2nd name would be beautiful with it?

Hmm, personally I'd avoid it - Winona Ryder is a bit of a unique case isn't she? Was she not named after a significant town or something? So you'd be naming your DD after a film star? Who is named after a town? Have never come across another Winona? And wouldn't it just get shortened to Winnie? So everyone would think her name was Winifred? Sorry, just an opinion

Isn't there a Winona in the Koala Brothers?

I think it's a native american name.

I would avoid it - a bit naff and hard to pull off in the UK. Just sounds like you named your kid after a film star.

It reminds me of that awful song about Winona and her big beaver.

Sorry boodleboot - don't be disheartened. Does it really matter what people think of your name choices?

I love Winnie actually, but WInona has too many Ns and it would seem a bit 'slebby'.

I prefer Winifred as a full name with Winnie for short. Winnie is adorable. Really Boden though, ha ha!

Winnie, 9, least favourite food, mushrooms. I can just see it. She has a blonde afro and a gap between her teeth.

I think it's pretty horrible, i'm afraid.

Winter? (assuming you are due later in the year!)

Wynne apparently is a girl's name, but then if you read too many baby name sites, practically any cluster of letters is a name.

Don't like it. It sounds very whiney. Not a good sound
