Irish boy's names

Really stuck on a boy's name.

We've a long, difficult to spell Irish O' surname so really need quite a short easy to spell first name.

Just cannot think of anything!!

Anyone got any suggestions, my dd's name is Orla by the way, which is fab (we think) as short and we chose the easy spelling.

My dts1 is named Niall, after an Irish King. Pronounced as in Ireland - Ny-all as opposed to the Scottish pronounciation of Neil.

I know a little boy called Colm, which I thought was a nice (but easy to spell) Irish boy's name.

I've just been thinking about Colin, Darren and Kevin. You'd probably not use them (I wouldn't use them) as they're still so dated but actually they're really nice names!

Our grandchildren will be Colin, Darren and Kevin.

I've a really Irish surname - think leader of the 1916 uprising, and my boys are Ciaran and Brennan.

I lived with a Colm so dislike the name as he was an idiot. My maiden name was an O Irish name. I have nephews called Aiden and Rory. I like Cathall (doesn't work with an English accent imho), Fergal, Noel, Connor and Niall.

I have a long, hard to spell and frankly disgusting stupid Irish married name too. I love Irish people and names, don't pick me up wrong. Alot of my family decended from Ireland too but their name was Dolan, pretty normal. Trust me, my surname stinks! Anyway, I called my son Evan on account of it being short and quite unusual here in scotland. I like Aidan but it sounds to alike - Evan & Aidan, what do you think?
Joorla I love Orla too. I am swithering between Olivia and Orla but I think the girl would need to be pretty to pull it off, don't know why!! Id need to wait and see if she can and if she's got my DH's nose - it's a no go!!. I like Colm but why would they get Colin?? Deemented I love Brennan, why have I not thought of that? Does it get shortened at all? Oh, Evan and Brennan, is that silly? My name is Beverly, is it getting sillier? Oh it's too bloody hard.

Id go for Aidan or Ciaran as i have one of each

I think Brennan goes very well with Evan, but i may be biased

Brennan's name does get shortened, but not by me - mainly by his nursery school teacher who took to calling him Bren, and on one memorable occasion Brennie Thank feck he goes full time in September

He was going to be Brendan, but the name was far too big for him when he was born as he was so tiny.
