What do you think of the combination Hunter Elizabeth for a girl?

DebiNewberry Thu 23-Jul-09 21:33:33

I think Hunter is a boys name?

what about Hero? Harlow?

Haribosmummy Thu 23-Jul-09 21:34:02

I don't like HUnter for a girl, to be honest. It sounds too masculine to me.

Love Elizabeth though.

DebiNewberry Thu 23-Jul-09 21:34:29

<passes op hard hat>

get ready to duck, btw!

Sidge Thu 23-Jul-09 21:37:03

Elizabeth is a beautiful name.

Hunter is pretty awful for a boy, and beyond awful for a girl.

Just use Elizabeth smile

MaybeAfterBreakfast Thu 23-Jul-09 21:38:44

ditto what sidge said

Heated Thu 23-Jul-09 21:42:36

Elizabeth is stunning and has some fabulous nicknames as well.

Hunter is the masculine hero in a Mills & Boon romance.

MovingOutOfBlighty Thu 23-Jul-09 21:43:54

Agree with Sidge.
If you have to, go with Elizabeth hunter. then call her Hunter so when she can make up her own mind she can gratefully call herself Lizzie.

Hulababy Thu 23-Jul-09 21:47:15

Hunter seems very masculine.

Elizabeth is a fine classic name.

filchthemildmanneredjanitor Thu 23-Jul-09 21:48:31

Lilyloo Thu 23-Jul-09 21:49:49

How about Hazel Elizabeth?

WesternBelle Thu 23-Jul-09 21:54:46

What do you like about the name Hunter, for a girl? What is the inspiration behind it?

sweetkitty Thu 23-Jul-09 21:59:02

Hunter - NO why would you want to call your gorgeous little princess such a masculine name? Think of school, Ellie, Chloe, Eva, Sophie, Megan, Hunter !!

Elizabeth is lovely lots of lovely nicknames

I would go for Elizabeth Hunter

piscesmoon Thu 23-Jul-09 22:12:51

Hunter is a boys name. I agree, if Hunter is a family name, have Elizabeth Hunter although I prefer something pretty like Eizabeth Rose.
Hunter will be a total embarrassment through life.

funnypeculiar Thu 23-Jul-09 22:16:03

Makes me think of the Betjeman poem - www.cs.rice.edu/~ssiyer/minstrels/poems/764.html - about Joan Hunter Dunn
Like Hunter as a middle name because of it.
But couldn't quite go as far as to have it as a first name smile

differentID Thu 23-Jul-09 22:16:39

Hunter is the stage name of this guy

sammac Thu 23-Jul-09 22:22:35

My dad(he's 76) is Hunter, and his cousin , of the same vintage is too. It was their great-granny's maiden name, so a family name. It's also my brother's middle name, and his son. He was def the only one around at the time, and works in a first name only basis, like madonna- Hello, it's Hunter here!

I know my dad wanted all his grandchildren to be Hunter/Bunterina a la Michael Jackson type, but had to settle for one middle name ( cause, of course we didn't!!0

slowreadingprogress Thu 23-Jul-09 22:51:16

Hunter - not attractive even for a boy
Hunter Elizabeth - actually the worst mis-match of names I have ever heard
