I know it reminds me of the car in Nightrider but I still think it is kind of cool as a boys name.

Let me have it. . . . .

Traditionally Christopher but nowadays probably a name in it's own right!

Christopher, Catherine.
Cool!

Short for Christopher. The village loon where I grew up was called Kit which has killed its cool potential for me.

Used to work with a very cool, very sexy surfer dude called Kit. Will always have positive connotations for me!

I have a cousin (by marriage) called Kitt and I don't know if its a shortened name etc etc! If you like it go with it!

I love the name Kit. It's short for Christopher, traditionally.

Christopher. But a great name in its own right.

I like Kit. It's one of those effortlessly cool names and as well, boys tend to like short names. He would probably feel really proud that his Daddy's name is Christopher and his name is a diminutive of that - like he's a Mini Me of his Dad! I bet your DH would like that too

Undoubtedly cool, think Christopher Marlowe (also a Kit) etc.

I also like Kester which is another oldfashioned (& cool) shortening for Christopher.

Yes, short for Christopher, Catherine, Christian (at a push)

I think Kit is a great nickname but would probably register him as Christopher.

Great name, as is Kester! Would definatly have Christopher as the longer version tho.

I am, thumbwitch, but I also used to know a real Kester! (Who was indeed suitably cool )

DB is Christopher and my mother always calls him Kester. And DH has a cousin Christopher aka Kit. I really like it.

As one PP has said, Christopher Marlowe used to be known as Kit. I've never heard it outside of this context so in my mind it is both traditional and unusual which ticks a box for me!
I would probably get him registered as Christopher, except that you say your DH is also Christopher. In this case I'd just stick with Kit, but thats just because I loathe childrens names being the same as their parents.

Sophie Ellis Bextor recently called her second son Kit Velentine.

Have just done a wiki search to check my facts , I didn't realise he was so premature. Just 2lb 10.

I also like Christy for a boy (but maybe best if you have Irish connections?)

I think I would call him Christopher after his father then call him Kit day to day.

Like you often got John the father then JOhn the son but is always called Jack

It is cool
