zane?

Dh likes a lot. The only problem we have is our surname is Lee which means the name is very close to the Zane low (the DJ)

Do you like Zane and do you think our surname prevents us from using this name?

I do like Zane, but It doesn't work well with Lee. I think you need a stronger sounding forename for that surname.

don't like the name personally

Zane Lee sounds a little like Zaney ie mad/crazy/wacky

Something with more syllables would work better as a proper name, or else he will sound like a comic book character, e.g. Joshua Lee?

We do love Joshua but its so popular

I would go for a 3 or 4 syllable name. Zane Lee reminds me of Vainly - ever played 'In the manner of the word'?

What about Zepheniah Lee
Jeremiah Lee

They work better and are biblicial like Joshua.

i like zane don't think it is too bad with your last name..could you use your last name as a midle name / double barrell etc to break it up?

I like Zane.

Think its ok with Lee.

The problem with longer first names (e.g. Zepheniah) is that they will inevitably be shortened (e.g. Zeph Lee).

Perhaps a 2 syllable name (not ending in L) that is unlikely to be shortened is better, e.g. Thomas Lee or Quentin Lee?

Quentin is a favourite of dh. I quite like it but I know it gets a mixed reaction

Agree that you need a strong sounding two syllable first name with Lee. An -in ending name works particularly well - I like Justin Lee and Quentin Lee.

Bit too wackey and, um, zaney

Zane is a little too 'wacky' for me too, I'm afraid. Also don't think that Zane Lee rolls off the tongue that well....

But I have to agree that Quentin Lee does sound very nice!

Quentin Lee is great.

Quentin Zane Lee?

Joshua Zane Lee works nicely?
I do like Zane, i see what people say about not "matching" the LN but its not such a big deal is it?

I actually like Zane - cool and unique.

But I don't think Zane Lee sounds that good.

Not sure about Josh Lee either (especially if said fast).

Agree that a name ending in a consonant would work well e.g. xxxin Lee or xxxen Lee.

Quentin Lee does sound very good (and I love Quentin)!

Still it's a nice name.
