I love it btw but I know it is an odd one - not planning another now but just curious about boys names.

I think he would have to be super handsome...

Er, I think he would be reclusive, probably a bit of an odd-un and have a lot of shirts. Though he would probably throw good parties...

It just makes me think of household appliances. You know like; Hoover, Smeg, Dyson, and Gatsby.

And as I wouldn't call my child Smeg, I wouldn't call them Gatsby either.

Sounds like a dogs name.

Nope. Sounds too much like a cartoon animal/sitcom dog.

My DH's with hf128219. Don't do it. People will always say "Oh? As in the Great Gatsby?"

Like I said it is not for me - I am just curious about names in general. This one has had a v strong reaction!

He will EITHER grow up to call everyone 'old sport' and have a fantastic home on Long Island and suffer from unrequited love

OR he will get teased mercilessly at school

Yes I have actually read the book. As I said the name is NOT FOR ME as I am not having another child. My friend is having a boy and we were considering some "out there" ideas.

I feel there are worse characters in fiction though and much worse names, I am surprised at such a negative reaction but names are fascinating in that way I suppose.
