Gabriel or Dara. Both beautiful.

My ds is Patrick. He's 8, and we've never met another one under about 40. I think it's a brilliant name - we've never had anything but positive comments.

I dislike Hugh (makes me think of Fearnley-Whittingstall).
Bran with the long a? Braaan? I like. But other people will pronounce as in flakes.
Felix - lovely name, auspicious meaning.
Gabriel nice but not too stuck on Gabe as a short.
Dara is nice but brings to mind Dara O'Brien being a whale....

Patrick is lovely, as is Niall.

Not in Ireland, but DP Irish and other DC have Irish names.

Thanks to all so far.

Felix is forever tainted by the catfood ad for me.

I like Patrick and I quite like Hugh.

I know a hippy called Bran, he is a very cool dude. He works hard doing youth work in the day, at weekends he organises festivals. A down to earth man, his name really really suits him and I love it.

In fact....{gets pen out for own list}

Please don't go for Dara - it sounds like a girl's name even though it isn't.

Love hearing your opinions as DP and I have kept all names to ourselves so far and have no idea how the world views them.

Seeker - do you use Paddy for short? Good to hear too that it's not very popular.

Myles sounds rather too posh, but would go with DP's surname.

Seems most people think of cereal with Bran though, and that's how we'd pronounce it too.

I've got a Patrick too - have only met 2 others. When we told people his name when he was born we got lots of funny reactions but now everyone comments on how nice a name it is. Probably a big name for a tiny baby.

He gets called lots of different nick names but most frequent in the family is Patch.

Another positive is that it's a name that isn't common but everyone can spell.

Good luck with the naming - I think the longer you leave it the harder it gets!
