Perhaps their other girls were allowed to chose "a name each" for the new baby. Petal I can just about come to grips with, but Blossom and Rainbow!!!!!

Brave!

Good Luck to her though - I quite like those Olivers

Petal is ok and Blossom is ok it's the Rainbow that makes it all a bit My Little Pony.
It's got a bit of a 'scraping the barrel for cute flowery names' feel.

That's just dreadful! Has she given birth to a care bear or a daughter (who will one day be an adult)?!

it does sound like a my little pony.

i know a grown up petal. it's not a good name.

and i love nature names usually.

aren't the sibling poppy and something else flowery.

it's all getting a bit 'keeping up appearances' with rose, hyacinth etc

trying a bit hard there....slightly completely somewhat over the top

What happens if they ever have any boys? Will they still go for cutesy flower names, or completely the opposite way: Pestilence, Famine ...

That poor child!

Reminds me of the 70's. I like people not afraid to be thought stupid. Who cares if a total stranger has given her child hippy names? Peace and love people and cheer up.

It is awful. I suspect she'll be a complete tom boy.

I have two cats one called blossom and guess what...one called petal!! We used to have a fish called rainbow.

I quite like it, maybe not the Rainbow bit. But then I've got an Esme Bluebell, who is two on Monday so you can't be mean about her.

If i hadn't already got an animal called Blossom i might be tempted to use it as a childs name, but not with petal and rainbow!

No, you're making it up! Is this a late April fool's???

I quite like it but agree that the Rainbow bit is a bit too much. Their other children are Poppy and Daisy so suppose they "had" to go with something flowery.
PuppyMonkey I love the name Bluebell and happy birthday to her on Monday

I prefer Rainbow to the flowery bits personally - though I wouldn't go down that rout myself.

Esme Bluebell is a beautiful name.

But Petal Blossom Rainbow is a bit much.

I am quite fond of the wackier nature middle names - Rainbow being one of my faves for a mn spot (along with Bluebell, Primrose, Sunshine).
Blossom is OK.
really dont like Petal, especially with Poppy and Daisy.
Would have prefered something like Fleur, Hazel, Willow or Juniper is they wanted to stick to the plant sort of theme. Petal is a bit daft. Even Blossom would have been better in the first name spot.
