Too many Amelias about.
Grace is beautiful.

fryalot Thu 15-Jan-09 23:05:49

well I think it's beautiful

ThornyRose Thu 15-Jan-09 23:06:11

Goes nicely together smile

helsy Thu 15-Jan-09 23:06:16

Very pretty. Both quite popular names, though - depends if you're bothered about that.

NimChimpsky Thu 15-Jan-09 23:07:05

popular as a popular thing on popular week but pretty

mum2b09 Thu 15-Jan-09 23:08:17

see i thougt the opposite because i dont actually know any amelias(supose it depends where your from) both names have beautiful meanings aswell. i wanted to call the baby grace but my bf wasnt too keen so i decided to put it in the middle lol xxx

Grace, Mae and Rose are the only middle names that anyone ever seems to choose now and there will be 64 million of them in five years or so. If you don't mind that, fine - I would HATE it!

Amelia is a lovely name and we don't have too many round here either!

CeceliaAhern Thu 15-Jan-09 23:15:16

I think it's lovely and they both go very well together.
Regarding popularity, if you like it I would still go for it. You are going to be saying it a lot

mum2b09 Thu 15-Jan-09 23:15:44

i dont mind it being quite a popular name really. although i havent really heard of anyone calling their baby amelia and i just think grace is a beautiful compliment to the name i think it does depend on where you live xxxxxxxxx

I have a ...-Grace, ...-Rose, and a ...-Mae and a Rae chucked in for good measure wink
Amelia Grace was on our shortlist, i think it is very pretty.

smartiejake Thu 15-Jan-09 23:16:35

Amelia is lovely (one of dd1s friends is called this and they shorten it to Milly or Mia which is also nice)
Sounds lovely with Grace (dd2 's name)

I think its a beautiful name. My DD aged 2 is called Grace and we still love it even though it appears to be becoming a little more popular.

LightShinesInTheDarkness Fri 16-Jan-09 09:28:12

Its beautiful!

beautiful - may be predictable on a thread where you see lots of names discussed but in RL it will just remain as a beautufl name.

Beautiful name, but WAY too popular imo. Not only will there be loads in her school, but such names could well 'date' and, in 20 years' time, be regarded as very '2000s' (like Sharon and Tracy now feel very '1970s').

There are so many other beautiful girls names out there smile.

lastboxoftampons Fri 16-Jan-09 12:00:56

Gorgeous!

Songbird Fri 16-Jan-09 12:01:52

Lovely, hope it goes with your surname grin

Hulababy Fri 16-Jan-09 12:16:22

Very pretty.

smellybulldog Fri 16-Jan-09 15:45:37

Agree with everyone else, pretty but popular. I also agree Grace and Rose and default middle names.

Mum2b09, Amelia was 10th most popular name last year and Grace was number 1.

Would have to agree - lovely names but very, very popular! I would be wary of names that become very popular quite quickly as they may sound more 'dated' than others in 5-10 years.

Two very pretty names.
